Blue Tech Alliance
Welcome to the temporary home of the Blue Tech Alliance
Our official website will launch in March 2012
March 22nd is World Water Day | The Blue Tech Alliance, the Alliance for Water Efficiency, and partnering sponsors*, request that you save the date for a World Water Day lunch symposium in downtown Chicago.
The purpose of convening on this day is to recognize local leaders in the global industry of water/wastewater and promote discussion on important water-related topics.
Keynote speech delivered by Richard Lanyon, former Executive Director of the Metropolitan Water Reclaimation District and author of the book Building the Canal to Save Chicago. The panel discussions will include: water resource management, the waste and energy nexus, and the role water will play in the G8/NATO Summit this May.
Although the program is still being finalized, we expect this lunch to be well attended. This is an inclusive event that brings together: technology innovators, internationally recognized water companies, local manufacturers of equipment and chemicals, state and local government leaders, engineering firms, investors, blue-tech entrepreneurs, and users of water/wastewater technology.
* please contact Shari Christofferson for sponsorship opportunities and further details. Her email is below.

What is the Blue Tech Alliance?
Mission | The Blue Tech Alliance (“BTA”) is a member-based 501(c)(6) non-profit organization that exists to provide a central point of international access to business growth opportunities in the water/ wastewater business.
-
Vision | The Blue Tech Alliance recognizes that one of the world’s largest concentrations of water/ wastewater, (ie: ‘blue-tech’), expertise is the Great Lakes region of North America. While innovation, research, and education are important features of this region-wide industry cluster, we see an opportunity to leverage those strengths to create a central point of market-access at the intersection of: talent, technology, investment, and end-users. BTA’s ‘market platform’ is accessed by members anywhere via an online portal, in addition to regularly scheduled conferences and events.
-
Objectives | The Blue Tech Alliance creates value for members by pursuing 6 objectives:
•Offer members a convenient platform for accessing market opportunities
•Bring in members from diverse sub-sectors, markets, and geographies
•Pursue collaboration with other water/ wastewater organizations
•Foster closer relations between members via face-to-face programs
•Align our activities with local economic development efforts
•Establish a Blue Tech Alliance 501(c)(3) for charitable causes (as a sub to the 501(c)(6)
Membership | Information will be available on our website, which will be launched in March 2012. Thanks for your patience.
